I believe many machines may be viewed as art. Not just because they look nice.
I'm not sure that's it's too much of a stretch to think of the experience of using a machine as experiencing artistic expression. -Machine makers as artists-
Ask a Harley rider or a Ferrari enthusiast or a fighter pilot.
