Wow, it hardly looks like night time at all. A new football field was built next to campus and the light polution from it is really bad. The lights of Las Vegas affect Death Valley National Park, a three to four hour drive away!
i am having a flash back of my mother, one night, calling frantically to me from outside on our back porch. I was in the bathroom when i heard her: "Dan!! OH my god!! Dan!! Quick!! COME HERE!! NOW!! OH MY GOD..." I dropped my toothbrush and RAN to the backdoor, wondering what I was about to come face to face with. A rabid dog...a backyard intruder...perhaps a jumbo sized sewer rat. "There!! UP THERE!" she pointed at the sky..."What are those?? Do you see them?? What on EARTH ARE THOSE IN THE SKY?" I looked for a moment. "Mom," I calmly replied. "Those are lights from the Casino. Not UFO's." "Oh geez," Mom replied. "I was gonna say!!!"
